So excited to share that my logo for Love Your Melon made it to the TODAY show! I am so proud of Zach and Brian and the work that they do. It is an honor to collaborate with them. Determined to change the world — and spreading joy, love and cute hats along the way. So proud of you two!
Love Your Melon is a company that operates as a buy one, give one program. Buy a hat, and they give one to a child battling cancer. A year ago, I created a logo for them. I had no idea that within 365 days this mark would be printed on a bus. Or that I would see it on the heads of strangers passing by on the street. Or that it’d be in local papers. And on the 5 o’clock news. And on the 10 o’clock news. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I’d see it Live from New York on Good Morning America.
When I met with Zach and Brian in a Starbucks 365 days ago, I just had no idea. No idea that these two guys are unstoppable—both endlessly compassionate, kind, motivated, and determined to make a difference in the world. Every success, every obstacle overcome, every smile, every hug, every day made…every ounce of success is because of Zach and Brian and their tireless commitment to LYM’s mission to spread love and hope to children who are knee-deep in the greatest fight of their lives. What a year.
I don’t talk about my day gig a lot. Well, let’s be honest. I don’t really talk about anything on here a lot. Clearly managing my own social media is not my greatest strength. But I really love my job. It’s ad management and social media and videography and photography and design and writing and admission work and website management and event planning and email campaigns. But it’s also a lot more than that. It’s giving hugs and tying shoes in the lower school hallway and observing the social dynamics [omg] of middle school students and continually finding myself in awe of the kindness and maturity of our upper school students. These are some recent slides from our homepage… it is so fun to try to convey the intangible “vibe” in our building in all of our print and digital materials. Innovative and rigorous learning in a joyful environment… does it get any better than that?
